Meet Steve Sorensen

If you've lived in Sooke for any length of time, there's a good chance you've crossed paths with Steve.

For decades, Steve has served this community as a firefighter, Fire Chief, community coroner, mentor, volunteer and neighbour. He knows Sooke well, and he also knows we can't simply recreate the Sooke of 50 years ago.

Steve believes we can take what was good about the Sooke he grew up in and build on it: a safe, welcoming community where families can afford to live, kids can play safely, businesses can succeed, and the natural environment remains part of everyday life.

He also believes we need to think beyond the next Council term – planning for aging infrastructure, managing growth, and making sure development contributes to the roads, sidewalks, parks, trails and services our community needs.

And for Steve, Sooke belongs just as much to someone who arrived last month as someone whose family has been here for generations. Their voices matter too.

On October 17, vote Sooke Together: Susan Belford, Brian McHattie, Helen Ritts, and Steve Sorensen for Council.
