Imagine our Town Centre

Imagine our Town Centre 10 or 20 years from now.

A welcoming, walkable downtown with landscaping, public art, places to sit, events, better pedestrian connections, public viewpoints and waterfront access.

Much of our Town Centre waterfront is still undeveloped. That's an incredible opportunity – and one we won't have forever.

It's time to update our Town Centre Plan and create a shared vision for what we want our downtown to become – then work with developers to bring it to life at a scale that fits Sooke and protects the character of our town.

We also have new MRDT (hotel tax) revenue that can support tourism-related improvements that benefit visitors, residents, and local businesses, giving people more reasons to stop, shop, eat and spend time in our Town Centre.

We should decide what we want our Town Centre to become before those decisions are made one development at a time. Let's make a plan before development decisions make it for us.
